Roofing SEO Pricing: What It Actually Costs

Most agencies won't put a number on the page. Ours is $999 to $4,999 a month, and most roofing campaigns land around $2,000. What follows is what moves that number, and what you should be wary of at either end.

What changes the price

Three things determine what a roofing campaign costs, and none of them are arbitrary.

How many keywords you're competing for. A roofer who wants to rank for repair and replacement in one suburb is a different job from one chasing storm damage, insurance claims, commercial flat roofing and emergency work across a metro. More terms means more pages, more content and more competitors to displace.

Whether your site is starting from scratch. An established site with years of history, existing links and a clean technical foundation needs less groundwork than a new build. This is scope, not a penalty — a newer site simply needs work an older one has already accumulated. It usually also means slower results, and we'd rather say that upfront.

How many cities you're targeting. Each market needs its own page, its own local signals and its own citation work. One city is one campaign. Six cities is six campaigns sharing a domain.

What determines your number

$999/month is the floor. One city, a focused keyword set, and a site that already has some foundation. Technical SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation, on-page work and monthly reporting.

Around $2,000/month is where most roofing campaigns land. One or two cities, a broader keyword set covering repair, replacement and storm work, plus content and citation building on top of the technical foundation.

$4,999/month is the ceiling. Multiple cities, a competitive storm market, a full site build-out, and the keyword depth needed to compete for the top positions rather than page one generally. Link building and answer-engine work are included at this level.

We don't publish fixed packages because roofing markets aren't uniform. Houston in hail season is not the same problem as a suburb with three competitors. The audit tells us which of these you actually need, and we'd rather quote the real number than sell you a tier.

What you should be suspicious of

Anything under a few hundred a month. Roofing is one of the more competitive local categories in the country. Campaigns priced at $199 or $299 are almost always automated directory submissions and spun content. It won't rank, and cleaning up the links afterwards costs more than the campaign did.

Guaranteed rankings. Nobody controls Google's results. An agency that guarantees a number one position is either guaranteeing a term nobody searches for, or telling you something they can't deliver. Google's own guidance says the same thing.

Twelve-month lock-ins. Long contracts protect the agency, not you. The common pattern is a long term with results that only appear near the end, and by then you've paid for a year regardless.

Agencies that serve every industry. A generalist running your roofing campaign is learning your market on your budget. They don't know what a storm season does to search volume, or why insurance-claim queries convert differently from repair queries.

No reporting, or reporting you can't check. You should be able to see your own Search Console and Analytics data. If an agency only shows you a dashboard they built, ask why.

How long before it pays for itself

Roofing SEO usually takes four to six months before movement is meaningful. Technical fixes and Google Business Profile work can show up faster — sometimes within weeks in the map pack — but rankings for competitive terms build over quarters, not days.

The arithmetic is straightforward though. A single roof replacement is typically worth several thousand dollars in revenue. At $2,000 a month, one additional job a month covers the campaign. Most of the roofers we talk to aren't trying to double their volume; they're trying to stop paying for shared leads that three competitors got at the same time.

There's no contract. You can leave whenever you want. We'd rather tell you honestly that this takes months than lock you into a term to make sure you stay for them.
